The Cooper family have farmed in Henlow for the past five generations as a
traditional family farm growing arable crops and rearing cattle.
Today the farm is run by father and son, Alan and Mark Cooper. Since returning to the
farm after studying at Harper Adams Agricultural College in 1994 Mark began
looking for further opportunities and started supplying hay to local horse
owners when some grassland became available to rent close to the farm. A
little advertising in the local paper brought new customers and regular
customers year after year. A chance conversation with one customer in
2002 sparked an interest in supplying shavings as the customer was having
difficulty sourcing a regular supply. The rest as they say is history,
and haylage was grown for the first time in 2004. The haylage area has been
increased every year to accommodate growing demand.
Our company ethos is to provide the best possible service to all our
customers both old and new
